In this video, all the problems arising from having an oil-soaked belt on your car are illustrated, as is commonly equipped on PSA engines such as Peugeot or Citroen with the famous PureTech engine. These engines are indeed subject to belt wear over time, which is located inside the oil pan and tends to deteriorate and disperse small pieces of rubber that clog the filter, causing poor engine lubrication. This problem can be overcome first and foremost with proper maintenance, regular oil changes, always using high-quality oil according to the manufacturer's specifications, and periodically checking the belt visually from the filler cap. There is also a specific tool with which the belt thickness can be measured, an important factor in determining its good condition.
