How does the air conditioner in a car work?

In this beautiful animation we see how the air conditioner of a car works: the compressor is the heart of the system, compressing the refrigerant gas, increasing its pressure and temperature; in the condenser, the hot gas releases heat to the external environment, turning into high-pressure liquid. The dryer filter removes impurities and moisture from the refrigerant liquid; in the expansion valve, the high-pressure liquid expands, becoming low pressure and temperature. It then passes into the evaporator, where the cold liquid absorbs heat from the air entering the passenger compartment, cooling it, and finally the fan pushes the cooled air into the passenger compartment.
