In this case, we consider the fact that the oil light is on, but if we examine the oil dipstick, we see that the oil tank is full to the appropriate level. So the problem could be one of these: the oil pump could be faulty, or the oil pressure sensor could be faulty, or the wiring of the oil pressure sensor could be damaged. The oil pump creates oil pressure inside the engine, and if it is not working, the pressure will decrease and the light will come on; on the other hand, the light responds to the signals it receives from the oil pressure sensor, which, if faulty, will not read this indication correctly, causing the light to come on. The same applies to faulty wiring, which, if loose, will short circuit.
