Typically, when you turn on the ignition without starting the engine, the oil pressure light remains on, but when you start the engine, the light should turn off within a few seconds. If it does not turn off and remains illuminated while driving, you may have an oil leak, the oil level may be very low, there may be a malfunction with the oil pressure switch, or there may be a fault with the oil pump.

In any of these cases, it is advisable to stop the journey and turn off the engine immediately.
