What drips after hours is used and dirty oil, which if left in the engine, immediately contaminates the newly added oil, reducing its lubricating and cleaning capabilities right away: it's like putting clean water in a dirty tub. Modern engines are full of passages, cavities, galleries, and components that hold oil inside them. Gravity takes time, and mechanics cannot afford to keep a car dripping on the lift for hours. So for us DIY enthusiasts, the recommendation is to let the oil drain as much as possible, even overnight. A workshop trick is to gently blow compressed air into the fill spout to help push down the residual oil.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
