Usage and installation method of the Lambda Sensor

The lambda sensor measures the amount of residual oxygen in the exhaust gases. In fact, it is also called an oxygen sensor. It is named "lambda" because in mechanics, the Greek letter lambda represents the ratio of the mass of air to the mass of fuel in the mixture that is burned by the engine. If the mixture is rich, there is too much fuel compared to air; if it is lean, there is too much air compared to fuel. Consequently, the sensor sends an electrical signal to the control unit, which in turn adjusts the amount of fuel injected to correct the ratio. It is a delicate component, and if we mistreat it during maintenance, it can become irreparably damaged. If, at the time of installation—as shown in the video—we apply copper grease to the threads, we will be able to remove it without any problems.
