A legitimate concern for those driving a dual-fuel petrol/LPG vehicle is when to change the filters, of which there are three in this type of system: the filter for the gaseous phase of LPG, which must be changed every 18,640 miles, or you will experience a loss of power when running on gas, or the engine may stutter and consume significantly more LPG; it should be replaced every 18,640 to 31,068 miles, and if it is clogged, the vehicle will struggle to start on gas and will switch directly to petrol, also triggering the LPG warning light indicating a fault in the system. Naturally, we must not overlook the petrol filter, which should be changed every 12,427 to 18,640 miles: if it is clogged, it can negatively affect starting on petrol and impact the switching between LPG and petrol.
