How to Replace the Clutch Hub on an AC Without Removing the Compressor from the Car

Model: (Various brands) Various
Part: Air conditioner

Even though we don't know what car it is. The video is very specific: the procedure for changing the clutch hub is a basic procedure similar on many cars, especially if the goal is not to disassemble the compressor and not to discharge the gas. The procedure works if we have access to the central bolt of the clutch and if the wing and compressor allow it. First, remove the auxiliary belt, then if necessary, lift the car. Next, lock the pulley to unscrew the central bolt, which holds the hub. To prevent the pulley from turning while unscrewing, use a long screwdriver or a lever. Insert it between the holes of the pulley to lock it against the bodywork or the compressor base. With the other hand, unscrew the central bolt, after which the hub should come off: be careful as there are adjustment washers that may fall out; take note of how many there are and where they are positioned. Below, you will see a circlip that holds the pulley. If you also need to change the bearing, remove it; otherwise, you can stop here. Clean the seat, refit the new hub, replace the spacers, put the central bolt back in place, and secure the pulley.
