How to Reset the Climate Control Blend Door Actuator

The blend door actuator is a small electric motor that regulates the flow of hot and cold air in the cabin. When the climate control gets stuck at a temperature, makes clicking noises, or does not respond correctly, often a reset is all that is needed to restore functionality. Turn on the ignition, set the climate control to "auto", with the temperature at maximum heat and the fan at maximum. Press and hold the "OFF" and "AUTO" buttons (or the two side buttons) simultaneously for about 5-10 seconds, until the system emits a beep or the displays flash. Release the buttons: the reset is complete. Restart the engine and check that the air changes temperature correctly. If the problem persists, check the fuses or power supply. This reset works on many car models.
