Operation: How to remove rust from the bodywork?

Removing rust from small body parts is an operation you can do yourself and save a few hundred Euros. We need sandpaper of various grit, primer, body filler such as resin and fiberglass but also finer, paint, final polish and obviously a dust mask, essential when sanding hazardous materials of this type. . We start by removing all the rust present with 40 grit paper. We then use the body fillers to rebuild the surface and bring it to its original shape if necessary, taking care to sand after each application while wearing the mask. As can be seen from the video, it is recommended to apply the masking tape in such a way as to make the edges of the primer soft and not sharp. We give at least two coats of primer, then sand with fine paper and water, and proceed with the coats of painting, not exaggerating and stopping as soon as the applied paint reaches a level of coverage similar to the original. Now we just have to apply the polish, again without exaggerating and leaving clear edges, and then sand one last time with very fine paper and water, or abrasive paste if necessary.
