How the Start and Stop System Works

The start and stop system allows the engine to stop and restart when the vehicle is stationary, such as in traffic or at a traffic light. When the vehicle stops, the engine automatically shuts off, and if the vehicle has a manual gearbox, pressing the clutch pedal again will restart the engine. If the vehicle has an automatic gearbox, releasing the brake pedal will restart the engine. If the air conditioning is on during the stop, the engine will restart to maintain the set temperature and ensure the microclimate in the cabin.
