How to Replace the Piston Rings in an Engine

If you need to replace the piston rings, follow the instructions below and refer to the video. The piston rings are oil scraper rings that are open and must be removed and positioned using a specific method. Near the junction of the ring on the piston, there is a dot, so when you remove the ring, use both thumbs to symmetrically widen it and extract it. Proceed in the same manner to remove the second ring. To fit the new rings, always refer to that dot on the piston and gently and symmetrically widen the ring with your thumbs to insert it so that the junction aligns with the dot.
