Brush the hood thoroughly to remove dust, then lightly spray the cleaning product onto the hood, ensuring it is well soaked, and spread it with the brush. Apply more of the product using the microfibre cloth.

Wait for it to dry completely before spraying the waterproofing agent. First, soak the microfibre cloth, then spray it onto the hood.
