How to Touch Up the Bodywork with Spray Paint.

You will need some sheets of newspaper, a bit of masking tape, and a spray can of the same colour as your bodywork: Use medium-fine sandpaper to remove any protrusions only from the area you will be repainting. With much finer grit, smooth the area around the paint, and mask off the parts you do not want to paint, including the wheel, bonnet, and headlamp. Start with a very light coat, wait five minutes, and then apply a second coat, trying to make the colour as uniform as possible. Wait for it to dry. If necessary, apply a third coat. Then polish with wax, starting from the peripheral areas: this helps blend the new paint. Dry thoroughly. Remove the masking. If the result is not satisfactory, you can easily remove the spray paint with a nitro solvent while it is still fresh. In the case of metallic paint, it is necessary to spray a clear coat as well, otherwise, it will remain dull.
