Operation: How does a Lambda probe work?

In this video, we are explained how a Lambda probe is constructed and how it performs its measurement. Its role is to sense the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases and compare it with the oxygen in the air. There are three types available, but the most commonly used in the market is the one with zirconium dioxide, which requires a resistance inside to reach its operating temperature (400°C). There are two Lambda probes: one upstream and one downstream of the catalytic converter. They measure the difference between the oxygen in the exhaust gases and the oxygen in the air. If the difference is low, it means that the combustion mixture is too rich. (The ideal ratio would be 14.7 to 1). The probe informs the engine control unit that the mixture is too rich and implements its strategies to control the fuel mixture by increasing or decreasing the amount of gasoline. If the Lambda probe is not functioning properly, the check engine light (or MIL) will illuminate; furthermore, there may be fluctuations in acceleration and we will notice that the vehicle behaves strangely because the probe is not providing accurate data to the engine control unit.

How to replace the Ford Transit key battery

Below I will explain how to replace the remote control key battery on the car, take a small screwdriver and pry the rear part of the remote control, (where there is the ring), at which point unhook the back cover and yes will have access to the compartment containing the battery. Always with the help of the small screwdriver, proceed to make the va and lift the battery out of the housing. Then take the new battery (check the type) and place it on the housing, always making sure to position it with the positive pole facing upwards. Finally, close the back cover by re-hooking it to the key.
