How to Replace a Flat Tyre

Here’s how to replace a flat tyre using a spare wheel. Park the vehicle in a safe area where you can work securely, turn off the engine, pull the handbrake, activate the hazard lights, wear a high-visibility vest, and place the warning triangle 50 metres from the vehicle. Remove any wheel trims or hubcaps from the wheel, position the jack near the wheel at the height of the mark on the bodywork without lifting the car. Using the appropriate tool, loosen the bolts securing the wheel and begin to lift the car until the wheel is off the ground. Completely unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel, using gentle taps on the rim if necessary. Place the spare wheel onto the hub, aligning the pins, insert the bolts, screwing them in initially by hand, then use the tool to tighten them in a criss-cross pattern without over-tightening. Lower the car back to the ground using the jack and finally tighten the bolts, again in a criss-cross pattern.
