The first symptom is obviously the illumination of the warning light, and several codes indicating a fault in the sensor are listed: P0520-P0521-P0522-P0523-P0524; these codes can be read using an OBD11 scanner. Another symptom is the oil pressure warning light, and the third is noticing the oil gauge constantly at zero or full. On some vehicles, the needle fluctuates rapidly between the two values.
