How to Replace the Rear Electric Window Regulator on the Volkswagen Passat B8

This guide shows how to remove the electric motor of the rear window regulator on the Volkswagen Passat B8. The first step is to remove the door panel by unscrewing the fixing screws and disconnecting the cables. At this point, remove the soundproofing panel and, using the driver's control, move the rear glass until the fixing bolt is visible through the hole in the window guide.

Extract the plastic pin and fully lift the glass, securing it in place with tape. Now, remove the electric motor by unscrewing the three fixing screws with a Torx T25 bit and disconnect the cable.

Push the three plastic pins to release the window regulator. Remove the two fixing screws of the glass guide.

At this point, you can extract the last piece of the mechanism. The reassembly procedure is carried out in reverse.
