To replace the timing belt on the Volkswagen Up, open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the left side, you will find the side cover of the engine block, which must be removed by unscrewing the fixing screws. This will allow you to locate the underlying belt, which can be extracted by removing the tensioner pulley; at this point, insert the new belt around the pulleys, reposition the tensioner pulley, and check that everything is functioning correctly.
