How do you remove the mirror glass from a Volkswagen Golf 5? Proceed as follows: Using a plastic lever with a plastic or rubber coating, pry between the perimeter of the mirror frame and the mirror glass. Pry until the glass detaches from the mirror; this is a delicate operation as the glass or the mirror itself may break. Once the damaged mirror glass is removed, disconnect the power connector for the glass, pressing on the locking clips to detach the cover of the mirror. Finally, replace the damaged part with a new one. Ensure the plastic clips snap into place in the mirror supports.
