In this quick video, we see how to remove the stock radio from a Volkswagen Golf V or VI, as they are mounted in the same way. We start by removing the cover on the dashboard, using a plastic spatula to pry it off. We continue with the same system, removing the frame that encloses the air vents and the emergency lights control: it is not necessary to disconnect it, we just need to lift it up in order to remove the small frame around the actual radio unit. This will allow us to access the four screws holding the radio in place; unscrew them and remove the unit. At this point, simply disconnect the electrical connectors and we will have completed our task.
