How to disassemble the steering wheel of the Volkswagen New Beetle

Today we will explain how to remove the steering wheel of the 2009 Volkswagen New Beetle on your own. To safely remove the steering wheel, it is advisable to open the front hood of the car and disconnect the battery. Disconnect the negative terminal first and then the positive terminal from the battery to prevent the current from activating the airbag during the steering wheel removal. Turn the steering wheel and position it vertically. Insert a long enough key into the right side hole of the steering wheel to activate the internal tab of the steering wheel and remove the central body containing the airbag. After removing the central body, disconnect the airbag connector. Then unscrew the nut at the back to remove the steering wheel.
