How to reset the airbag light on a Volkswagen without specific equipment

In this video we can see how to reset the airbag light on a Volkswagen car: in reality the tool would be necessary because it is supposed that before the reset, the airbag must be repaired in a workshop; however Volkswagen allows the reset even without the tool, by removing the car's battery terminals, although this is only a temporary solution. The definitive solution can be found in the wiring located under the passenger seat, where there may be corroded contacts, which can be sprayed with WD-40, or loose or damaged wires; by restoring them, the airbag light will turn off without the need for specific equipment. Otherwise, we can follow these steps: locate the airbag control unit, which is probably located under the passenger seat or in the center console; unplug the connector and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes, then reconnect it and see if the light has turned off. If it remains on, then we should have the car checked by a professional.
