How does lane assist work on the Volkswagen Touareg?

In this video, we see how the lane assist (lane control) works on the Volkswagen Touareg; it uses a camera mounted on the windshield, integrated in the rearview mirror, and recognizes the lane lines on the road in front of us, within a visual range of 50/60 meters with good visibility, clear horizontal markings, and speeds above 60 km/h. Its purpose is not to drive, but to assist the driver. If the vehicle starts to move towards a line without the turn signal being activated, the system intervenes with a slight steering resistance (a steering torque), then offers a series of warnings, as shown in the video: a visual symbol, then also auditory and tactile (the steering wheel starts to vibrate); it then begins to apply slight braking, tighten the seat belts, and activate the emergency call. It is important to note that it is NOT an autopilot; it does not react to obstacles, in case of heavy rain, snow, worn or absent road markings, very dark tunnels, the system disables itself. In any case, the driver always has priority.
