Functions of the SOS button in Volkswagen vehicles

In this video we see what the SOS button above the interior rearview mirror of Volkswagen cars is used for. It can make both an automatic emergency call, in case of a serious accident with activation of the airbags, the e-call system automatically sends a call to the emergency number 112, transmitting crucial information such as the vehicle's location, the time of the incident and the number of passengers. The manual call is initiated by pressing the SOS button, and can be useful in case of illness, danger or to report accidents to a dedicated call center. It is active from the delivery of the vehicle and does not require activation.
