Let's see how to replace the rear brake pads on a Volkswagen Golf Mk7. Lift the car with a column lift (to the desired height), then remove the wheel (using a socket wrench or air impact wrench) along with the respective securing bolts. Unscrew the caliper retaining bolt, remove the caliper from the wheel hub; use a screwdriver to remove the pads from the caliper of the wheel hub: fit the new pads onto the brake caliper. Refit the brake caliper with the support onto the brake disc, tighten all bolts and remount the wheel.
