How to replace the rear bumper of the Volkswagen LT DIY

On the Volkswagen LT, the replacement of the rear bumper is performed with the vehicle stationary and securely. Access to the fasteners is cleared by removing the existing covers; the integrated utilities in the bumper (such as license plate lights and parking sensors, if installed) are disconnected, and the piece is supported to prevent it from falling. The bolts of the side/central brackets are loosened and removed, and the bumper is slid off, paying attention to alignments with the chassis and sides. Before installation, the compatibility of the new component and the condition of the brackets are checked; the bumper is positioned in place, and the bolts are hand-tightened to center the piece, then evenly tightened. The electrical connections and covers are restored, followed by a visual alignment check and ensuring the proper functioning of the utilities (license plate/reverse lights and, if present, PDC). Once the work is completed, a torque check is performed, and the supports are removed.
