From the instrument cluster of the Volkswagen Sharan, it is possible to completely eliminate the Service warning light by holding down the button located on the right side of the instrument cluster while it is turned off. By continuing to hold this button, you can insert the key into the ignition and then turn it to activate the instrument cluster.

At this point, you can turn the knob on the left side to ensure that the warning light disappears completely; you can then release the button, turning off the display.
