You can activate or deactivate the air conditioning on a Volkswagen Golf by first inserting the ignition key into the corresponding switch: once the instrument cluster is on, you can use the AUTO button located on the central panel to turn on the air conditioning.

Once activated, you can then turn off the air conditioning by pressing the OFF button, which is also on the central panel.

This way, you can complete the procedure by turning off the instrument cluster.
