Today, we will explain how to access the Volkswagen Passat when the remote battery is dead. To access the vehicle when the remote battery is dead, you need to remove the emergency metal key contained within the remote and then insert the metal key into the small hole located under the lock cover. Lift the lock cover to access the lock itself; then insert the key and unlock the vehicle. After that, replace the car remote battery so you can reattach the lock cover.
