How to Replace the Remote Battery in a Volkswagen Passat?

To replace the battery in the Volkswagen Passat remote, press the button located at the top of the remote and pull the key out from its housing. Once removed, push sideways on the chrome cover to detach it. This will allow you to leverage inside the groove formed between the two halves of the remote to access the battery. When the battery is removed, replace it with a new spare part and reassemble the remote.
