Instructions for Removing Window Regulator System

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012

To access the window motor, it is first necessary to remove the door panel. Disconnect the internal handle cover and unscrew the two screws underneath. Next, unscrew the other three screws along the bottom edge of the panel. At this point, using a metal pry tool, release the pressure clips securing the panel and pull it upwards to detach it from the window seal. Disconnect the cable from the internal opening lever and the other connected plugs. Remove the rubber plugs to access the securing pins of the glass clamps (it is necessary to lower the glass by about 5 cm). Then unscrew the securing pins of the window motor, disconnect the plug connected to it, and remove it from its seat. Unscrew the pins of the glass clamps and pull the glass upwards, securing it to the door frame with tape. Disconnect the cable guides from the soundproofing panel, unscrew all the screws securing the panel, and remove it along with the window regulator by disconnecting the plug connected to the lock: the window regulator is secured to the panel with rivets, so to replace it, it is necessary to drill out the rivets and subsequently secure the system with pins or rivets. Proceed in reverse for reassembly.
