You can replace the timing chain on the Volkswagen Golf by lifting the car with a jack or a ramp, ensuring that the front right wheel does not touch the ground: this way, it will be possible to remove it from its seat by loosening the screws that hold it and then also freeing the wheel arch. From the side of the engine block, which will now be accessible, you will need to remove the chain tensioner by loosening the screws that hold it: this will reduce the tension of the chain, allowing you to extract it and replace it with a new one. Finally, reassemble all the components that were previously removed.
