To replace the timing chain on the Volkswagen Golf 6, open the bonnet to access the components to the left of the engine block. Here, you will need to remove the cover under which the sprockets and the timing chain are located: by unscrewing the bolts that secure the tensioner, you can reduce its tension to replace it with a new spare part. Once the new chain is installed, you can reassemble all the components that were removed.
