How to Reset the Service Light on a Volkswagen Golf?

To reset the service light on a Volkswagen Golf 4, ensure the instrument cluster is off. Press and hold the button used to reset the trip odometer, then turn the ignition on without starting the engine. The maintenance indicator will appear on the display. At this point, release the button and rotate or press the clock control, depending on the vehicle version, until the confirmation of the service interval reset appears. Once completed, turn off the ignition and wait a few seconds. When you restart the vehicle, you can check that the maintenance message is no longer present and that the service count has been reset to its initial values.
