How to Reset the Service Light on a Volkswagen Golf

To reset the service light on a Volkswagen Golf 4, it is necessary to turn off the instrument cluster and hold down the trip odometer reset button. While keeping the button pressed, turn on the cluster without starting the engine until the display shows the maintenance interval indication. At this point, release the button and turn the knob used for adjusting the clock to the right, keeping it in this position for a few seconds. At the end of the procedure, the display will confirm the reset of the maintenance interval. Finally, turn off the instrument cluster and turn it back on to check that the service light has been correctly cleared and that the new interval has been stored.
