How to Reset the Oil Change Light of the Passat B5

This article shows you the procedure to reset the oil change light or service light of the Volkswagen Passat B5, as it may remain illuminated even after a service or not be reset. Insert the key into the ignition but do not start the ignition or the engine, press and hold the reset button located on the right side of the dashboard, while holding it, turn the key to position 2. Once the ignition is on, release the button and turn the clock button on the left side of the dashboard to the right. Now turn off the ignition and restart it to check that the service light and the related message are no longer present on the dashboard.
