How to remove the rear shock absorber on a Volkswagen Polo? The first step: lift the car on a column lift and remove the rear wheel; unscrew the retaining bolts of the shock absorber using a socket wrench. Unscrew the retaining bolts of the shock absorber at the wheel hub (disconnect the brake line hoses with a screwdriver). Remove the bolts located under the car's body and pull the shock absorber out of its housing (place a support under the bar). Compare the old part with the new one and prepare for installation. Fit the new shock absorber on the car by reversing the steps.
