How to Reset the Maintenance Light on a Volkswagen Golf

To reset the maintenance light on the Volkswagen Golf 7, turn on the ignition without starting the engine. On the dashboard, below the central display, locate the onboard computer buttons. Press the Menu button or similar to enter the main menu, then scroll to the 'Maintenance' or 'Service' option. When the remaining mileage or service light appears, hold down the OK or Set button for about 10 seconds until the value starts to flash and is reset. Turn off the ignition, wait a few seconds, and restart the car: the maintenance light should be off, confirming the reset was successful.
