How to Remove the Rearview Mirror from a Volkswagen Gol Trend

To remove the rearview mirror from the Volkswagen Gol Trend, start by prying off the plastic cover with a flat screwdriver. Detach the cap, and if it is broken, carefully remove it. Underneath, you will find a locknut (usually black, but in this case bronze because it is not original). Loosen the nut with pliers, about half a turn. At this point, the mirror is almost free, but to remove it completely, you need to disassemble the inner door trim. Only after removing the door panel can the mirror be fully extracted. There is a follow-up video for the complete procedure. The job requires care to avoid breaking the plastic parts.
