How to Change the Serpentine Belt on a Volkswagen Up

To replace the serpentine belt, or auxiliary belt, on a Volkswagen Up, turn off the engine and wait for it to cool down. Safely lift the front of the car and remove the cover that prevents access to the belt area. Before removing it, carefully observe the routing around the pulleys to correctly install the new one. Use a suitable tool on the tensioner, rotating it to relieve tension, then hold it in position and slide the old belt off the pulleys. Position the new belt following the same routing and ensure the grooves are perfectly seated. Slowly release the tensioner to apply tension to the belt. Check the alignment again, reattach the removed covers, and start the engine to ensure the belt runs smoothly.
