How to replace the instrument cluster needles of the Volkswagen Jetta MK4

The purpose of the video is to replace the instrument cluster needles of the Volkswagen Jetta MK4 with those from the MK6 model for a better aesthetic effect. This job requires extreme care to avoid breaking needles or dials: take a photo of the cluster to memorise the position of the needles, then remove the lower steering column cover, pull the trim above the cluster towards you to release it, unscrew the two fixing screws of the cluster and disconnect the two electrical connectors located behind. Now for the most delicate step: with minimal but firm force, remove each needle with tweezers, vertically. Insert the new needles using the same technique. Before reassembling the cluster, reconnect the connectors and turn on the car. Each needle will self-position to zero. With the car off, gently push each needle to its correct resting point: getting this wrong means having false readings! Disconnect the car, reassemble the cluster, the connectors, and all panels in reverse order.
