How do you change the battery of a Golf key? Take your remote control and press the release button of the metal key; use a screwdriver to pry between the key cover and the battery cover. Pry until the cover separates from the cap, then extract the worn battery with a small screwdriver (get a new one of the same size and voltage). After reassembly, press the cover onto the key case until you hear it click into place. Check the remote's proper functioning by pressing the buttons.
