Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Replacing the engine oil and filter is generally not a particularly complex task; it requires few tools and about an hour of time. Keep in mind that you need to lift the vehicle, so if you don't have a ramp in your garage or a pair of ramps like those in the video, at least get a pair of axle stands, do not rely solely on the jack. Once the car is lifted, start by removing the undertray by unscrewing the cross-head screws. After removing the undertray, position a container to collect the used oil and unscrew the drain plug. To facilitate the flow of oil, it is advisable to remove the cap on the engine or the dipstick. While the oil drains, you can focus on replacing the filter. In this case, it is a cartridge filter located under a cap approximately 7 cm in diameter with a hexagonal head for unscrewing. Keep in mind that it is made of plastic, so do not apply excessive force. The filter cartridge comes off with the cap; when you apply the new one, ensure it is properly seated, replace the seals, remembering to oil them before refitting the filter and tightening it to a torque of 25 Nm. Now go back under the vehicle and refit the plug after replacing the copper washer that acts as a seal and reattach the undertray. Position the vehicle on level ground and pour in the new oil until it reaches the maximum level. For greater accuracy, run the engine for a few minutes and check the level again. The type of oil and quantity are indicated in the owner's manual.
