Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

Open the bonnet and locate the engine oil reservoir. Remove the undertray located beneath the engine that covers the oil drain hole. Place a container under the hole and, using the appropriate spanner, loosen the bolt and allow the engine oil to drain out. Refit the bolt when the oil stops flowing. Locate the oil filter and, from underneath the car, unscrew it to replace it with the new filter. At this point, pour the new oil into the reservoir and refit the undertray beneath the engine. The vehicle on which this maintenance operation is performed is a Volkswagen Passat.
