Removing Gear Knob on VW Golf 5

Is the gear knob on your Volkswagen Golf damaged? Do you want to replace it? Here’s how to remove it from the shaft. Use a plastic lever to detach the trim of the leather gaiter, then remove the tightening clip of the knob. Grip the knob and rotate it left and right until it comes off the gear lever. Fit the new leather gaiter with clips along with the new knob and slide it onto the shaft in the centre console: tighten the knob with the clip. Finally, test the movement of the shaft in the centre console to ensure the knob is correctly fitted. Reattach the knob and the gaiter trim.
