How to Replace the Gear Knob and Gaiter on a Volkswagen Golf

Before starting, sit in the driver's seat of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by unhooking the lower base of the gear lever gaiter, then lift it to reveal the internal clip that secures the gear knob and the corresponding gaiter. Proceed to unclip this clip using pliers. Once you have unclipped it, you can remove the gaiter and gear knob, completing the disassembly. To fit the new gear knob and gaiter, simply repeat these instructions in reverse, and the replacement will be complete.
