Before you can start, sit in the driver's seat of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by putting the gear lever into neutral. Next, unclip the gaiter from its housing and lift it. This will reveal the clip that secures the gaiter to the gear knob, which you need to unclip using a flathead screwdriver as a lever. At this point, you can remove the gear knob and the gaiter, completing the removal process. To fit the new knob, simply follow these steps in reverse, and the replacement will be finished.
