How to Remove the Gear Lever on a Volkswagen Transporter

To remove the gear lever cover and possibly proceed to the complete removal of the lever, follow the steps outlined in this video. Start by removing the plastic cover of the lever knob by applying pressure with your fingers under the chrome ring to unlock it. Then, unscrew the screw inside using a Torx key. Now, you can remove the gaiter by gripping it with all fingers and pulling outward enough to free the lower block from its seat. The video also shows how to remove the gaiter from the lever in case you wish to replace it.
