Replacing the wiper blades is essential to avoid being caught unprepared in heavy rain: this is a simple operation that can easily be done as a DIY task; however, for the Golf 5, you need to know that to replace the blades, the control arms must be positioned in maintenance mode.

Therefore, with the ignition off, activate the wipers and they will position themselves sideways so that they can be lifted for blade replacement; the blades can be removed by pressing on the locking mechanism, and the new ones can be slid into the appropriate housing until the lock clicks.
